Laurie attended law school at the University of Manitoba, Robson Hall and was called to the Bar in 2012. Laurie articled with Manitoba Prosecution Services from 2011 – 2012 and remained practising as a Crown Attorney until February of 2018 when she moved her practice to Irwin Law Office where she now focuses her practice on family law, wills, estates and real estate.
Laurie was married in 2018 to her husband, Clayton and his two children. This has given Laurie the opportunity to experience the many positive and challenging aspects of being a member of a blended family. Through her role as a step-parent, she is able to recognize the challenges that her clients are facing and help them navigate the difficulties that separation and divorce can bring to a family unit.
Laurie has been an active member in the Dauphin community since her arrival in 2011. She was the volunteer head coach for the Parkland Gators Swim Club from 2013-2018 and is still involved with the club to date. Laurie volunteers her time each year at Dauphin’s Countryfest as well as other community held events throughout the year. She is also the president of the Dauphin Ladies Golf Club.
